Charleston Home Renovation
South Carolina-based general contracting firm CRM – Construction Management (CRM-CM) recently completed a stunning home renovation in Charleston. Founded on a mission to start with strong roots, this latest project preserves the integrity of the overall structure, while making cosmetic and energy-efficient updates throughout.
Many home remodeling projects aim to add more space for a changing family or to simply update the current layout and features. Whatever the reason, there are tons of options for renovating a current home to fit a specific lifestyle and personal vision for how you want your home to look and feel.

Located at Stefan Drive in Charleston, this single-family home was in desperate need of a facelift. However, before improvements could be made, we had to get down to the home’s good bones. This phase of the project was extensive and included removing flooring, replacing the roof, removing the living area’s skylights, removing popcorn ceiling throughout (say goodbye to the ‘70s!), replacing the HVAC system and removing the centrally located fireplace.
There are seemingly unending decisions to make when it comes to a whole-home renovation or remodel and the process can quickly become an overwhelming venture. Once a plan is devised and finish selections are made, the fun can begin.
From there, it was in with the new! The CRM-CM team installed new vinyl plank flooring in the common living areas and bedrooms refreshed the walls with new paint in a modern, neutral color palette, updated lighting and fans throughout and added an accent shiplap wall as the living area’s new focal point to replace the fireplace focus.
The updated kitchen now features a beautiful, clean white theme with quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, subway tile backsplash and modern lighting elements. The cabinets were updated with new brushed nickel hardware and crisp white paint, and the previous kitchen chandelier now hangs over the cozy breakfast area to add the perfect rustic touch to the entire space.

The bathroom renovations include new tile floors, standalone vanities with updated mirrors and lighting, as well as new brushed nickel finishes and hardware. Additionally, the owner’s bath now features a walk-in shower with sliding glass-door entry and a sleek subway tile surround.
Exterior updates include a new garage door and fresh front landscaping. Like many older homes, the front of the home had been overtaken with overgrown bushes. We added a manicured flower bed with new shrubs and dark mulch to contrast the new lighter exterior color scheme. Furthermore, the rear of the home is now a thoughtful outdoor living space, perfect for entertaining friends and family with a rebuilt, extended back deck and new backyard fencing.
This renovation not only increased the overall value of the home but also improved the home’s general functionality for its next family. Consider CRM-CM for your next home remodel project along the Southeast coast. Our team has the experience and vision to complete projects both big and small.
