CRM-CM Blending Modern Farmhouse Design with Coastal Appeal
At CRM – Construction Management (CRM-CM), we want to offer the best to our clients and contribute to their vision in a way that is outside-of-the-box and has long-term benefits they can enjoy for generations.
Therefore, we do our best to stay up to date on design trends, as well as new products that can add value.

THE MODERN FARMHOUSE CRAZE
What’s not to love about the combination of minimalist facades, patterns and metals juxtaposed to rustic materials, various textures and traditional farmhouse elements like tin roofs, oversized porches and large-pane windows? This look is all the buzz right now from California to Arizona and up to the Cape area – not to mention on HGTV!
IT SAYS: CLEAN & COZY
We love this design so much that we just want to help bring it to our neck of the nation – the good old Southeast – specifically, the greater Charleston, South Carolina and Brevard County, Florida areas.
In the Carolinas, it is common to see a lot of traditional and coastal design with wood floors and plank siding, whereas tile floors, Spanish influence and stucco exteriors are a Florida staple. Of course, we understand there is history behind the architecture in specific areas and it is not our intention to completely override it; thus, the goal of CRM-CM is to blendmodern farmhouse design with the coastal appeal of the Carolinas and Florida in a way that is still suitable to withstand the elements of those areas.
STUCCO STAYS
One of our favorite adaptations is to use stucco in a new way – by creating exterior molds that can make it look like fibrous concrete siding or even shake. This practice can be used to create dimension, texture and custom detail. It also gives the appearance of exterior styles commonly seen in traditional farmhouse design without sacrificing integrity to the harsh climates of Lowcountry or the coast.
LONG TERM VERSATILITY
Rather than the use of tile throughout the home on the interior of our home designs, which is very common in Florida, we’ve discovered a stone core alternative that is long-lasting against cracking and is water-resistant to the core. In an area with its own season for hurricanes, this is an ideal long-term cost-saver in the event of water damage from a leak, a spill or natural disaster. Not to mention, this product comes in the appearance of vinyl, wood floors and even tile, so for those who prefer to stick to what they’re familiar with or those that want some aesthetic variety, this is the perfect option with long term benefit!
